Two visits to Noble Rot Mayfair will not be my last. On reflection, it might be my favorite of the trio due to the ambiance and that duck. It represents Keeling and Andrew’s most ambitious opening thus far, given the higher number of covers and the fact that Mayfair doesn’t have the footfall of Soho.

The standard of cooking at Aurora was exemplary, and with a six-course menu at £65.00 per person, you would be paying twice as much in London, perhaps more. You could probably fly up to Edinburgh and save money.

When I was invited to join a Tuscan-themed dinner in the private room at 67 Pall Mall, I eagerly accepted. I wanted to reacquaint myself with Tuscan wines and placate my palate, which was protesting that it wanted to taste anything other than Cabernet or Pinot Noir. The bottles were deeply impressive and showcased Tuscany at its best.
