Vinous Table: Bern’s Steakhouse, Tampa, Florida
Vinous Table
, Feb 2026
The first rule of Bern’s is: “Don’t talk about Bern’s.” For years, I had heard tales of this undercover gem with a wine list that makes the Mariana Trench look shallow. Finally, on a visit to the Sunshine State, I had the opportunity to visit and see if Bern’s deserves its reputation.
Vinous Table: La Lune, Beaune, France
Vinous Table, France: Burgundy
, Feb 2026
The litmus test of a restaurant is not whether it blows you away on your first sitting, but whether it blows you away on your tenth, or your twentieth. Despite how many times I have eaten at La Lune, my favourite restaurant in Beaune, I always depart feeling elated.
Vinous Table: La Trompette, London, UK
Vinous Table, Italy: Tuscany, France: Rhône & Beaujolais
, Jan 2026
You could define a bona fide great restaurant as one where tingles of excitement run down your spine no matter many times you enter its doors. La Trompette is essentially my second home, given the innumerable times I have visited, and I recently returned for two splendid evenings: a Soldera dinner and a Rhône dinner.
Vinous Table: La Pagode de Cos & Restaurant Le Gabriel, Paris, France
Vinous Table
, Dec 2025
Tucked away in the 8th Arrondissement, not too far away from some of the most famous shopping areas in Paris, Michel Reybier’s La Réserve is home to several restaurants. The three-Michelin-star Le Gabriel is the hotel’s signature destination restaurant, while La Pagode de Cos offers a more informal environment within the context of high-end Paris hotels. I recently enjoyed exceptional meals at both.
Vinous Table: Gramercy Tavern, New York, USA
Vinous Table
, Dec 2025
More than 30 years after opening, Gramercy Tavern remains a benchmark for fine dining in New York City. That’s saying a lot in a town where restaurants come and go practically every day. I first dined at Gramercy Tavern in 2005, shortly after I moved to New York City. It quickly became a favorite. While most articles in our Vinous Table column are about a special meal, this article is a departure, mostly because I have been to Gramercy so many times over the years that I find it challenging to reduce my experiences to a meal or two.
Vinous Table: Anthocyane Wine Bistrot, Beaune, France
Vinous Table, France: Burgundy
, Oct 2025
This new bistro lies in the heart of Beaune, close to Place Carnot. It's a useful addition to the town's culinary scene with an intriguing wine list that features small, hip producers and hard-to-get names.
Vinous Table: Rocca, Tampa, Florida
Vinous Table
, Sep 2025
Tampa, Florida may not be known as a culinary mecca, but talent among the city’s most ambitious chefs has been steadily on the rise. At the forefront is Chef Bryce Bonsack’s Rocca, a restaurant that embodies Tampa’s new wave of world-class dining options.
Vinous Table: Lisboeta, London, UK
Vinous Table, Portugal

Lisboeta’s authentic and interesting dishes are lip-smackingly delicious. Every plate showcases well-sourced ingredients and impressive execution without pretentiousness.
Vinous Table: Grouse Club @ The Bull, Charlbury, UK
Vinous Table
, Sep 2025
This year’s edition of the annual Grouse Club saw the three musketeers relocate to the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. We headed to The Bull in the village of Charlbury, which first opened its doors in the 16th century. I wager that during its half-millennial existence, these walls had never witnessed such a bevy of fine claret.
