Best New Wines from Argentina
The better wines from Argentina continue to outclass their counterparts from Chile. In particular, Argentina top cabernet- and malbec-based wines combine density and intensity of ripe fruit with Old World savoir-faire. The Catena family continues to dominate production of world-class Argentinian wine. With Argentina's highly successful 1999 vintage, Laura and Ernesto Catena, the daughter and son of Nicolas Catena, have launched their own labels (Luca and Tikal), and a number of their first releases offer exciting quality. These are wines worth seeking out.Related Articles
